Brett Griffin - on workloads in schools and why teachers have untapped business skills

These interviews and conversations give a glimpse into some of the people we have been working with at always possible, some of the brilliant organisations we have been championing and some of the latest thinking in leadership, creativity and learning. In this podcast Richard Freeman has a conversation with Brett Griffin about his transition from secondary school Assistant Principal to entrepreneur, his mission to reduce teachers' workloads and the lessons he has learned about building a new EdTech business. Brett Griffin is the Founder and Chief Executive of Pupil Progress, a software system that helps teachers track, monitor and analyse the progress and attainment of individual and groups of students. Brett started as PE teacher in Kent before embracing the challenge of education in inner-city London and working in one of the UK's first academies. Before long he was Director of Sport and Assistant Principal, overseeing an Outstanding sports provision and healthy school agenda. Brett further specialised in educational leadership and change management at the Institute for Education before leaving the school staff room behind to launch his new business venture full-time. In 2016, Brett joined the UK Entrepreneurial Spark business incubator programme, funded by NatWest, KPMG, Dell and Pinsent Masons - and secured his first round of investor funding shortly after. --- If you enjoyed the conversation, please like, subscribe and review - and share with colleagues.
