This is a RoundTable podcast; a little bit different to our usual weekly bite-sized interviews. always possible RoundTables are informal conversations between a group of invited subject specialists and friends from across The Possibility Club and always possible networks. This RoundTable took place during a blizzard in March 2018, as part of our residency at Colonnade House, the creative hub, gallery and workspace near the beach in Worthing, West Sussex. In this session, we’re exploring why, in times of economic uncertainty and fiscal demands on public service like health and education, we should still be publicly funding arts and culture. We consider a society without a creative life for all its citizens, the future challenge and opportunities for arts funding and who should decide what is and what isn’t culturally valuable.
